In current times, it has been evaluated that there are a wide range of methods through which people can efficiently learn about the social world. Mainly, the essay will recognize the sociological imagination which can be regarded as a significant capability that is being taken into deliberation socially along with how they get interrelated with each other and how encouragement can be done (Wall, 2022). Social class, media, life chances, ethnicity, gender childhood, health and well-being are regarded as significant factors in the social world. This essay will discuss two topics such as social class and childhood. Apart from this, the essay will also confer the significant theories relevant to the social class and childhood.

Main Body

Social class

Social class is regarded as one of the significant elements in the social world. It refers to the group of individuals of the same rank, status or ordinary features such as lifestyles and commonly sharing the same phase of wealth and power. According to Karl Marx, social class as all those persons who share a mutual relationship to the means of production of the economy. In addition to, wealth, income, religion, social networks, occupation, education, race and geographic location are recognized as the significant factors of social class (Muntaner, Lynch and Oates, 2020). Income is one of the crucial factors that influence the social class of the people. The volume of money one earns is a major element in identifying their social class. An individual who has a higher income are lead to a status of higher class.

Additionally, education plays an immersive role in social flexibility. Admittance to quality education can uplift peoples to higher social classes. Occupation is another significant factor that has massive influence on the social class. The type of job a people holds essentially influences their social class. In the context of wealth, the person who has accumulated assets such as investments and property are belonging to higher class status (Belmi et al, 2020). Social status comprises of family backgrounds, prestige and social connections within the one community also plays a significant role in identifying the social class. Apart from this, upper class, middle, upper-middle & lower class and working class are the significant types of the social class.

The richest peoples who have extensive financial resources and major effects over society are included in the upper class. On the other hand, the individuals who have professional careers and advanced degrees as well as enjoy luxury lifestyles are included in the upper-middle class. The peoples who have fewest resources and limited opportunities as well as facing poverty are included in the lower class. For example, the parliament of the UK organized a legislature law i.e. Life Peerages Act 1958 on a class basis, with the House of Lords demonstrating the inherited upper class and house of Common signifying everybody else (Life Peerages Act 1958, 2023). Additionally, this act has a significant impact on the social world because it permits for the creation of female peers to sit in the House of Lords.

Along with this, Karl Marx is considered as one of the significant theories of social class. According to Marx the classes are framed or described by the relations regarding possession or ownership of property, labour and work as well as means of production. In the social world this theory ha significant impact because it develops a specific style of culture and leading political doctrine and its control over the community is combined with a definite type of political system. Another significant theory of social class is Max Weber. This author describes class as the economic aspect of social stratification which is identified by the people’s relationships to the means of production and their position within the market. Apart from this, I learned that individuals who have better social class backgrounds are more likely to have more educational accomplishments. I experience that social class plays a massive role in the community by encouraging people’s admittance to opportunities, resources and power. Social class has an immersive impact on their capability and physical health to receive nutrition, sufficient medical care and their life beliefs (Batruch et al, 2023).

Childhood

Childhood is that state or early phase that is essential for social engagement and growth. There are wide range phases that are involved for the growth of the child and are vital to consider by the adults. It can be said that, the cultural aspects help in influencing the overall growth and expansion for a child. A high or low level can be developed or influenced by the sociocultural environment offered to child while rising up (Rakoczy, 2022). Apart from this, child labour is one of the biggest challenges in underdeveloped countries and it directly impacts their development. Moreover, there are several theories of social constructivism that has put some perceptions in knowing the diverse variables for the development of the child.

In addition, it is crucial to consider the child background to know their cognitive and mental capabilities and also helps in revealing them to the right amount of interaction to the whole world. The individuals of the UK follow all the rules and regulations of Children Act 1989 to develop their child and protect their lives. This act has massive impact on the social world because it gives emphasis to child’s welfare at the time of making effective decisions in relevant to their upbringing (Children Act 1989, 2023) (Kennedy et al, 2019). I learned that, the development of the child’s life is important for their growth and health. I experience that childhood plays a crucial role in growth of their brain as well as at this stage their relationship with the parents are also strongly developed. Early childhood directly influence the growth of the brain’s architecture which offers structure for all the behaviour, future learning and health (Hansen and Broekhuizen, 2021).

Apart from this, Vygotsky is one of the essential theories of childhood. This theory emphasizes the learning capability of children and cognitive development can be facilitated and led by their social interactions. Sensation, memory, attention and perception are the vital principles of this theory. As per this theory, the mental capability of children gets improved by providing the same opportunity for developing their behaviour and attitude (Erbil, 2020). Understandably, a happy childhood can grow a person’s mind in a positive direction. For example, the children who belong to elicit class have the availability to good education, food and shelter. This theory plays a crucial role in child development within the social world. With the help of this theory, people can grow their learning through social interfaces and obtain new as well as enhanced skills.

CONCLUSION

From the above essay, it has been concluded that social class and childhood can be considered as significant elements of the social world. Social class is a group of individuals of the same rank, status or ordinary features such as lifestyles and commonly sharing the same phase of wealth and power. Upper class, middle class, working class etc., are significant types of social class. Wealth, income, religion, social networks, occupation, education, race and geographic location are regarded as significant factors of social class. Additionally, Karl Marx and Max Weber are significant theories of social class. Apart from this, childhood is that state or early phase that is essential for social engagement and growth. The individuals of the UK follow all the rules and regulations of the Children Act 1989 to develop their children and protect their lives. For growing or developing the children individuals can focus on Vygotsky's theory.
